Q: Does SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage contain potassium and phosphorus, and if, so how much per serving?
A: Negligible amounts…not enough to be of significance.
Q: How much fiber does SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage contain per serving?
A: Obviously SoZo was not engineered as a fiber product and contains less than one gram per serving. Our focus was Polyphenols and other natural plant antioxidants along with Glyconutreints. If you are looking for fiber, there are a lot of places to find it, but SoZo is not your best source.
Q: Is there any type of breakdown and to how much of each ingredient is included in SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A: This particular information is proprietary and not something we are able to divulge.
Q: What is the sodium and potassium content in SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A:
Sodium7.23 mgwhich is .3% of Daily Value
Potassium.09 gwhich is 2% of Daily Value
Q: Are we the only nutritional beverage which does not contain artificial or synthetic ingredients?
A: There are a few other nutritional beverages that claim they do not contain artificial or synthetic ingredients; however, they do not contain our propriety blend.
Q: Quinones
A: We have no Quinones in SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage. The reason being is they are only present in animal products.
Q: Resveratrol
A: Resveratrol was hot news in the nutritional world 15 years ago. Only recently has main street media given it some good press but they are always way behind when it comes to nutritional science.
Even though we agree that Resveratrol is a great ingredient it has become more like a commodity. You can get it anywhere—nothing proprietary about it.
On the other hand, the Resveratrol in SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage comes from VitaBerry , a proprietary blend that enhances Resveratrol because of the synergism that is created by the rest of the blend. Since most of the ingredients in the SoZo proprietary blend are not common place (more difficult to obtain), we wanted to focus and educate more on those.
Q: Label / Protein in SoZo?
A: SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage and Ignite are classified as Dietary Supplements and therefore, require a Supplement Facts Panel of required information. The listing of protein is not part of a Supplement Facts panel. Again, because the nature of these products is not a protein supplement, it does not contain much protein—actually, less than 1 gram per serving.
Q: What is the amount of potassium in a serving of SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A: By analysis, there is negligible amount – 0% RDA.
Q: Is the FruiteX – B complex natural or synthetic?
A: The key element in FruiteX.B is fructobrate that is derived from plants, nuts and legumes. It contains the only plant based boron known. Refer tohttp://fruitex-b.com.
Q: Is there citric acid in the SoZo Nutritional Beverage?
A: Yes. There is a very little amount.
Q: Does SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage have glucosamine, Resveratrol or plant sterols?
A: No Glucosamine or plant sterols. Resveratrol is present in the VitaBerry blend.
Q: Is acai the second ingredient after CoffeeBerry?
A: Acai is not the second ingredient of our SoZo Proprietary Antioxidant Blend. We felt strongly that the following ingredients should be in the product at greater levels: FruitX-B®, VitaBerry®, VitaVeggie®, VitaGranate®, and Sensoril®.
Q: Does SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage have live enzymes?
A: No additional enzymes added…any enzymes in the formula are natural enzymes from the natural ingredients.
Q: Is SoZo Nutritional Beverage gluten free?
A: Yes, SoZo is gluten free.
Q: Why do you not list the nutrition facts on the label?
A: SoZo is a dietary supplement and as such must follow the FDA label requirements for dietary supplements. This is why we have a Supplement Facts panel. If a product is considered a food item, they will have a Nutrition Facts panel. If a product is declared as a food item, it is required to disclose the information that you are asking about. In that a dietary supplement is not a food or a meal replacement product, the declared information is not the same. A dietary supplement is not considered a food or a meal replacement product. However, if a dietary supplement does provide a significant amount of the items you are asking about, it may list them on the Supplement Facts panel.
SoZo is not a source of vitamins or minerals, carbs, etc. It is a super nutrient supplement full of antioxidants.
Of the items you listed, SoZo provides the following:
Fat.089 g per serving
Sodium18 mg per serving
Carbohydrate15.7 g per serving
Protein.5 g per serving
Vitamins insignificant
SoZo was not designed to be a Vitamin supplement. Most people’s knowledge about vitamins is based on the RDA, which was established over 50 years ago for minimal health requirements (not optimal health). Unfortunately, most of the vitamins today that are in supplements or processed foods are synthetic isolates that may do more harm than good. There is much debate around this subject; some health professionals argue that those that eat somewhat of a healthy diet have no need to take vitamins. There are different schools of thought and a new article on this topic almost daily. We do believe that the more natural sources of vitamins (vs. synthetic) you can receive through natural food sources the better.
Our goal with SoZo was to develop the best nutritional beverage in the market place from 100% natural sources. Again, the design focus was not on vitamins, it was on plant phytonutients, selected from well-known phenolic compounds in high concentrations from popular fruits and vegetables that are rich in proanthocyanidins, anthocyanins, sulforaphanes and glucosinolates to name a few. These plant compounds are why the government and major health organizations promote the intake of five servings of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis to obtain optimal health. These compounds are not easily obtained in our daily diet and certainly not at the concentration level contained in SoZo. (LC)
Q: Exactly how much CoffeeBerry fruit is in SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A: An incorrect response to this question would be just simply stating a milligram amount for CoffeeBerry. If we do that everyone loses.
Let’s address the comparative shopping comment (CoffeeBerry capsules). First of all, there is no comparison to SoZo in the market place.
SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage contains over 7500 mg of active ingredients in one serving. CoffeeBerry is very important to the blend but so are VitaVeggie, VitaBerry, Sensoril, VitaGranate and FruiteX-B. That equates to 7 and one half large capsules of actives in one serving. All of these actives are a part of our ORAC which exceeds 10,000 per serving. No CoffeeBerry capsule is going to do that even if you were talking 15 capsules a day.
The next question for the comparative shopper would be which CoffeeBerry is being used in the capsule? There are many powder forms produced by FutureCeuticals. N487, N488, N463, N309, N489, N287, etc. All of these forms have different strengths. Here is a hint; it won’t be CoffeeBerry Forte N309. That is the most expensive and that is what we use. The only reason it makes economic sense for SoZo is because we are in a partnership with FutureCeuticals. My point is there are a number of different CoffeeBerry blends and the typical manufacturer will go the cheapest route when developing a capsule for consumers. The label on the capsule product more than likely will not tell you the specific CoffeeBerry being used in the product; it will just be listed as CoffeeBerry. Again there is no comparative product in the market, only ones with less and/or inferior actives that are cheaper.
We list the individual ingredients in our Proprietary Blend but not the amounts. If we did, it wouldn’t be Proprietary; everyone would know our exact formulation. Coca Cola won’t disclose their secret formulation; we don’t have a good reason to disclose ours either. I will say this, all the weights of the specific ingredients in the blend are at levels that equal or exceed the manufactures suggested amount per day for maximum results. I will go further in regard to CoffeeBerry and say that it does exceed 350 mgs per serving of the highest grade of CoffeeBerry available.
Q: How much Sensoril Ashwagandha / Winter Cherry is in a serving of SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A: Regarding Sensoril:
-
The amount is the maximum recommendation by the manufacturer. Our proprietary blend is Proprietary. If we broke down the weights of everything in it, then people would know our formula.
-
If the product wasn’t safe for the public, we wouldn’t be marketing it nor would our product liability insurance group insure it. If someone does feel bad after a couple of days of use, it is because the toxins in their body are responding. Our experience when this happens is that people who continue to use the product for several days end up feeling much better. The only caution we give is for mothers that are pregnant, consult your physician.
Q: What is the pH of SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A: The important thing to remember when discussing pH and the human body is not necessarily the pH of the food or drink when entering the body but what it does in the body while digesting. SoZo containing fruit enters the mouth acidic (3.79). Being acidic works well during digestion, helping to rid the body of yeast/fungus that is very prevalent in our society. SoZo will leave the body as alkaline ash pulling out and counterbalancing the free radicals.
When taking your pH, remember that the only accurate reading occurs at the end of your first urination when you first rise in the morning.
Q: Is SoZo’s Nutritional Beveraged pasteurized?
A: A “Flash Glancing” method is used as opposed to a typical Pasteurization process. This insures that all harmful pathogens and bacteria are eliminated externally before the fruit and vegetables are processed. We conduct ORAC testing approximately 30 days after the product has been bottled. Our ORAC score is well documented to be arguably the highest in existence for this type of product. This extraordinary activity (30 days after bottling) supports the fact that no damage to the raw materials took place during processing. (LC)
Q: Patent Process
A: The stabilization process for CoffeeBerry is proprietary and is protected by three patents.
Q: Is our product organic? Can we claim our product to be Organic?
A: Organic Certification falls short of VDF FutureCeuticals assay requirements. VDF’s standards for their fruit and vegetable extracts does not allow any foreign matter i.e., pesticides, herbicides. Unfortunately, Organic Certification (depending on which group) allows different levels of small percentages of this type of matter.
As it relates to CoffeeBerry specific, the same applies but there is another factor, Organic Certification where our coffee is grown will not allow you to put nitrogen back into the soil. Nitrogen is present in all healthy rain forest environments. Commercial farming strips out nitrogen along with other needed nutrients. The plantation owners and VDF feel that we must maintain healthy rainforest environments and healthy Coffee plants. Nitrogen is important to this process.
No pesticides are used on the Coffee plants that are used for CoffeeBerry production.
Q: Do you freeze dry or spray dry the CoffeeBerry?
A: We use some aspects of freeze drying and custom air drying along with a proprietary extraction process.
Q: Is the SoZo pasteurized, and if, so at what temperature?
A: The product is flash glanced to a high temperature of 182 degrees and immediately chilled down to 85 degrees.
Q: At what point was the antioxidant level tested, before or after bottling?
A: We tested the product after the product was bottled.
Q: Flash Glancing / Stabilizing process
A: CoffeeBerry is stabilized through a patented process. Our ingredients are blended then hot filled into the bottle with a process called flash glancing. This process does not harm the ingredients, which are obvious, based on the exceptional ORAC score that is generated approximately 30 days after the product has been bottled. After the CoffeeBerry has been stabilized, it is shipped from the Coffee Plantation to the extraction facility in the States. No preservatives are necessary because the pHs of the ingredients are balanced. In addition, after the liquid is flash glanced, the bottle is vacuumed sealed and has a 2 year shelf life until opened. Once the bottle is opened, it requires refrigeration. Product, once opened and refrigerated, will last approximately 4 weeks if cap is secured. One bottle is approximately a week supply.
Q: Is SoZo Nutritional Beverage produced in a nut / tree nut free facility?
A: Yes. SoZo is produced in a nut free facility.
Q: Does extreme heat or cold damage o ruin SoZo Nutrtional Beverage?
A: In production SoZo is hot filled at approximately 180 degrees. The point is the heat is not going to hurt the product. Having said that, I wouldn’t leave it in direct sunlight for an extended period of time. Stored at room temperature, once it is received and of course kept in refrigeration after opening is ideal. Heat and cold will not damage the product as long as it is sealed. After opening it must be stored in the refrigerator.
Q: Do we cook any of our ingredients?
A: Nothing cooked… all raw
Q: Does SoZo test for vitamin content?
A: SoZo has been standardized for the beneficial antioxidants and Phenolic Acids along with other phytonutrients such as Anthocyanins, Proanthocyanidins, Cholorogenic Acid and Resveratrol to name a few. Brightly colored fruits and vegetables are well documented to be loaded with these health beneficial nutrients. We have not done testing to determine individual vitamin content since that was not our objective. There would be present low levels of natural occurring E more than likely, but the key is natural E from plants vs. synthetic E supplements.
Q: How much “calcium” is provided by the calcium fructoborate?
A: The calcium fructoborate is derived from a naturally occurring, food form calcium carbohydrate which is commercially marketed as FruiteXB. One serving of SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage contains 250mg. per serving of FruiteXB.
Q: Should someone quit taking a calcium supplement if they are taking SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A: No, but because of the FruiteX-B, SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage will help with calcium uptake. The calcium will be more beneficial.
Q: Do you have to take a multi-vitamin when you are taking SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A: The panel of doctors believes that one does not need to take a multi-vitamin supplement in addition to SoZo. The doctors feel there are plenty of antioxidants in SoZo. However, they do recommend taking major and trace minerals with SoZo. If one chooses to take a multi- vitamin, that is also okay.
Again, SoZo was designed with the focus being on Polyphenols and glyconutrition content. The mineral and vitamin content is minimal in a 3 ounce serving. SoZo is made from specific fruit and vegetable extracts, which is the reason why we don’t give a breakdown of the vitamin contents on our panel.
Q: Do antioxidants equal vitamins and mineral?
A: SoZo was designed with the focus being on Polyphenols and glyconutrition content. The mineral and vitamin content is minimal in a 3 ounce serving. SoZo is made from specific fruit and vegetable extracts. If a person doesn’t have problems eating fruits and vegetables, they won’t have problems with SoZo.
Q: Is there vitamin K in SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A: There is a trace amount of natural occurring (not artificial) vitamin K in SoZo. The typical diet provides approximately 90 mcg per day. A daily serving of SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage would provide less than 2 mcg per day all derived from the vegetable (VitaVeggie) blend ingredient.
Q: Is SoZo’s Nutrtional Beverage safe for children?
A: SoZo was developed for consumers 18 years of age and older. For consumers below that age, we recommend they contact their Health Professional for alternate suggested or recommended usage. Below is the response from the Dr.’s panel at the launch.
“We know that there are a number of our Distributors who are giving SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage to their children and like what they are seeing. We also know that the ingredients in SoZo have gone through toxicity testing and have been found to be safe. Having said that, the FDA doesn’t like dietary supplements being promoted to children, we feel that SoZo is safe for children, but we have to use the following caveat “check with your health professional”. If the physician is comfortable with the fruit and vegetable ingredients, we suggest that children be at least 5 years of age and that the suggested use for children under 10 be 2 ounces per day divided into one ounce servings in the morning and another late afternoon. Above 10, 3 ounces divided at 1.5 servings twice a day.”
Q: Protandim
A: The claim made by Protandim on their website is referring to the amount of antioxidants in whole fruits and vegetables compared to their product. The USDA, American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society promote eating five servings of fruits and vegetables per day. The USDA states that each serving of fruits and vegetables has a minimum of 500 ORAC units per serving. SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage is made up of fruit and vegetable extracts that are proven to contain antioxidants. I think you will find similar statements in our printed materials such as the Discover Health brochure.
Q: How long has Futureceuticals been in business and How are they related to the CoffeeBerry “farm”?
A: Futureceuticals has been in business since the early 70’s and is an offshoot of Van Drunen Farms, which has been around for over a century. They are the company that developed the process to be able to bring the CoffeeBerry to the marketplace.
Q: How does the body’s absorption of a nutritional beverage compare to that of fresh fruits and vegetables? In other words, does the body absorb and process the nutritional components of SoZo as effectively as when the body breaks down a fresh product?
A: Our outstanding ORAC numbers support the activity of the product after it has been bottled and opened by the consumer/Distributor. We wanted to take it one step further, and that is why we engaged in a double blind clinical study with Futureceuticals. It was important that we determine that the product was being absorbed into the blood stream and at what levels. In addition, the study was designed to determine a number of different markers that relate to human health. Those who were at our National launch saw firsthand some of that data that clearly showed that not only were the nutrients being absorbed at an impressive rate, but also some of the blood markers that indicated some great health benefits.
Q: Does the acidity block the effectiveness of the antioxidants?
A: The level of acidity has no impact on the antioxidants but certainly helps reduce yeast. Our study that we talked about at the launch supports that the antioxidants are delivered into the blood stream along with some other exceptional findings.
Q: What in SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage helps support a healthy glucose metabolism?
A: CoffeeBerry and FruitX-B. The clinical study will break down markers further. CoffeeBerry and FruitX-B also reduce inflammation in joints.
Q: If SoZo raises nitric oxide levels, does this mean better pumps during workouts?
A: If taken approx. 30 minutes prior to workout, raising Nitric Oxide is beneficial to the workout, no doubt about it. More details located in SoZo’s White Paper Clinical Study.
Q: What effect does the SoZo Nutritional Beverage have on hormones?
A: We have no data to support hormone activity up or down. Remember, we are dealing with fruit and vegetable extracts with the focus being on Polyphenols that relate to antioxidants. This approach could have some possible positive effect on balancing hormones out for that particular individual. In some cases that might mean certain hormones going up and some going down depending on the individual. We certainly don’t make any claims in this area but balancing could be a benefit.
Q: Should a LDS have a problem drinking SoZo?
A: SoZo’s former VP of Sales and former C.M.O. are both devout Latter-day Saints and that we and our families all drink SoZo “religiously”.
We have no problem whatsoever doing this because the caffeine in a serving of SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage is considerably less than what’s found in a cup of cocoa. There’s even less than what you’d find in a cup of de-caffeinated coffee…meaning there is very little measurable caffeine in our nutritional beverage.
Of course, it’s full of incredible fruit and vegetable extracts…which give it an amazing ORAC rating…so there is really no reason an LDS person should be concerned about drinking SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage.
Q: Can you get too many antioxidants?
A: Your body is constantly under attack by free radicals in our environment, the food we eat, what we drink and every day stressors in our lives. SoZo is designed to yield high levels of polyphenols and phenolic acid to help combat these free radicals. For this reason, you cannot get too many antioxidants.
Q: Is ORAC recognized as a good form of measurement?
A: The USDA Still recognizes ORAC as does the majority of the scientific community as a legitimate measurement for antioxidants in food compounds. It should be no surprise to any informed person that the FDA and the European Safety Authority (one of the biggest pushers of CODEX) would come out against ORAC. They are against anything that would give credibility to the Dietary Supplements or natural health products industry.
Having said that, our position has always been that ORAC was a good place to start and is an accurate measuring procedure for plant compounds before they enter into the body. It has to start there; if you don’t have the activity before you consume it, there is no way you are going to get results in the body. But to establish the real benefit of any wellness product, you need to determine if the consumed nutrients survive the gut and make it into the bloodstream. If that doesn’t happen, then there is no way that you are going to get benefit at the cellular level were improving your health begins.
SoZo and FutureCeuticals have spent a lot of time and money on a completed human study that proves the bioavailability of our nutritional beverage. In addition, we took measurements of activities and levels of elected blood biomarkers related to conditions such as inflammation, oxidative stress, aging, energy and metabolic syndrome. The results have been described as “scientifically and statistically significant”.
Q: ORAC
A: There are a number of different methods to test for antioxidant activity…ORAC, NORAC, HORAC and SORAC to name a few. The scientific community feels that ORAC is an accurate tool to determine activity. The RAC wars are just that, everyone has their favorite they promote. Keep in mind, though, all of these methods are just useful in measurements outside of the body and do nothing to determine the bioavailability of the ingredients once it goes into the body. That is why SoZo has gone the extra step to do a human clinical study to determine the activity in the body once it has been taken. We really like our dominate ORAC position, but we are just as excited about what is coming. SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage has no scientific competition. We stand alone at the top of the food chain.
Q: How many servings in a bottle and what is the recommended daily usage?
A: Each bottle contains: 25.35 fl oz or 750 ml. Recommended Usage: 3 fl oz per serving per day/8.45 servings per bottle.
Q: How long is the product still good after the expiration date?
A: The date on the bottle is the freshness date. The product is actually good for another year after that date as long as it is stored in the suggested conditions (room temperature and dark such as in a pantry).
Q: What herbs are in SoZo products?
A: Only one, Sensoril (winter cherry extract)
Q: Are these herbs standardized extracts or whole herb concentrates?
A: Patented extract process.
Q: What is the concentration of each of the herbs?
A: It is a patented process.
Q: Besides herbs and extracts from fruits and vegetables, what other ingredients are in your product?
A: See label, all ingredients are listed.
Q: What substances are in the extracts and/or other ingredients in SoZo?
A: All ingredients are assayed and meet GMP and FDA requirements. All ingredients are listed.
Q: What extraction process is used to manufacture the extracts?
A: See www.futureceuticals.com. This company provides extracts that are in SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage.
Q: What chemicals or ‘non fruit’ substances are in the extracts used in SoZo?
A: No chemicals, 100% natural product as listed on the label.
Q: I understand there are no preservatives in any of your products. Is this correct?
A: Yes as stated on the bottle.
Q: What is added when it says “Natural coloring added/Natural Flavoring added” on the bottle of SoZo’s Nutritional Beverage?
A: The combination of all the natural ingredients gives the product color that is enhanced to our desired shade with a natural coloring from grape skin. Much of the flavoring comes from the natural juices that are a large part of the formula; however, we add a little blackberry flavor and natural cream flavor to bring the taste to a consistent and desired level.
Q: Does SoZo contain Iron?
A: SoZo Nutritional Beverage – 3 fl oz serving has .249 mg of Iron. That’s 1.4% Daily Value.
As you can see, this is a very, very small amount. In addition, there is not one specific ingredient that totally contributes the iron. The majority of the iron will come from the SoZo Blend which is a combination of VitaVeggie. In addition, the Acai puree will have some iron as well.
Q: Why does SoZo tax on renewals?
A: Some states view enrollment and renewal fee like membership fees…and as such, some states view them taxable—very similar to sales aids. Some states tax sales aids, and some don’t.
Q: Where is the SoZo Nutritional Beverage and Ignite Manufactured?
A: Nutritional Beverage is manufactured in Dallas/Ft. Worth. Texas. Ignite is manufactured in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Q: Where are the SoZo Select Coffee Beans Roasted?
A: SoZo Coffee is roasted in the USA in a facility in St. Louis. They keep the coffee bean green and roast before getting packaged, so it will stay fresh.
Q: Can you drink SoZo’s Products if you are diagnosed with cancer? Can you drink SoZo if you are on chemotherapy or taking Tamoxifen, Femara etc? What are the contraindications, if any, with drinking SoZo?
A: 1. We cannot really provide much in terms of SoZo and cancer. When it comes to cancer, we are quick to advise everyone to consult their qualified practitioner of choice…cancer is nothing to mess around with… Of course, there has been no research in this regard, and consequently, any input from us would be conjecture. That said, SoZo is made from fruits and vegetables and, although some components are extracts, they are nonetheless food based. In fairness, there is little research regarding how certain foods may be contraindicated for certain cancers (who knows) but there has been some research indicating that antioxidants from fruits and veggies could be possibly preventive of some cancers. Nonetheless, if it’s me, I’d stick to conventional medical modalities and be sure to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet rich in cruciferous veggies and grains. I would avoid dairy and red meat like the plague.
2. There is no data of SoZo and chemo of any kind…an open discussion with a qualified health care practitioner should be strongly advised.
3. There are no known contraindications at this time for SoZo and no reported adverse events. We would recommend not exceeding the recommended serving size.
Q: What are the exact reasons that we changed the packaging from glass to aluminum?
A: The big thing that we want to promote is that light-weight aluminumleaves a smaller foot print on the environment as compared to glass or PET.
-
Aluminum is 100% recyclable.
-
Aluminum raw material is the third most frequently occurring element on our planet.
-
Aluminum can be recycled indefinitely without losing its intrinsic properties, 75% of all aluminum ever made is still in use.
-
Aluminum recycling reduces energy consumption by 95% vs. primary sources.
-
Beverages transported in aluminum bottles saves up to 50% of the truck loads in comparison with the traditional glass bottles.
Q: Is there a new formula with the new Nutritional Beverage bottles? Why does it taste different?
A: In regards to the SoZo Nutritioanl Beverage tasting differently, the formula has not changed; it is exactly the same as it has always been. What you may notice as you enjoy your daily serving of SoZo is less “pulp”. The Acai berry is grown in Brazil, processed and shipped to the United States. Our current vendor has an improved screening process that removes much of the pulp. In that the pulp has little to no nutritional value, the nutritional potency of the finished Acai puree is stable. As you may have noticed in your previous bottles of SoZo, the color and taste were slightly different. Remember, we are working with an all-natural product and as such, over time, the color and pH can gradually change altering the taste and color. To minimize these minor inconsistencies, look and texture, SoZo’ s Functional Beverage production will occur approximately every 90 days. Remember, if sealed, SoZo’s Functional Beverage has an extremely high shelf life (2 years after the date printed on the bottle). However, the taste, look and texture can differ from when the batch was first made. This does not mean that the product is/has gone bad, just aged.
Q: Is there a liner inside the new aluminum Nutritional Beverage bottle? If so, what is it?
A: Yes, the bottles are protected with a Valsprar Liner. This is placed in every can actually to protect the aluminum from being attacked by the product. WACO tests are frequently made on the bottles coming down the line to make sure there is no exposed aluminum. In order for there to be a problem, the product would have to leach through the liner, attack the aluminum, and then leach back through the liner. Not going to happen. These liners are used on everything from Coke to Budweiser, and all of these companies have the same concern. If there were the slightest aluminum leach, the product would have a heavy metallic taste. The manufacturer stands behind the fact that the liners do not allow leakage and that they had to prove it to the FDA and those records are public. From a health stand point, there are bigger and more legitimate concerns over plastic because of PBA leaching. It’s becoming a big topic with health enthusiast.
“The lining in our aluminum containers for SoZo and Ignite is Valspar 13S93AA/1. This product is approved for food and beverage use by the FDA and is safe. This product is commonly used in various canned products as well.
SoZo Global’s products are manufactured and packaged under strict GMP standards as well as complete testing for food safety. The company is confident our products are safe.
Consumers have choices on the products they consume and such, SoZo Global goes the extra step to assure our products are produced in the best facilities with the best ingredients and packaging.”
–Response from manufacturer
Q: Many juices on the market have only 1 or 2 of the essential sugars or amino acids. How many are there in SoZo’s products?
A: I am aware of two essential sugars – per serving – Glucose 4.3 g and Galactose .09 g. SoZo does not have any additional sugars added. All the amino acids/sugars are naturally occurring.
